Tutoring at Artist Cafe Utica
Artist Cafe Utica's owner/writer is currently tutoring in writing and related skills through the website www.tutorme.com If you would like private online tutoring with me, be sure to sign up as a student through their website.
When arranging a tutoring session with me, please remember: (terms)
*Tutorme functions like Uber or Doordash or GrubHub. I do not own or manage or have any authority there beyond my own account. You have to create a student account, set up a payment method, and abide by their terms.
*The first tutoring session will require an extra step. You will have to join the pool of students seeking tutors and wait for me to claim your lesson. We can arrange to be on the website at the same time through my email, artistcafeutica@gmail.com Once you have had a tutoring session with me, you can simply log into the site, communicate with me, and invite me to lessons directly through my messages on there.
*Sometimes, another tutor might claim that first lesson. They do not know you are there to meet a specific person, and are only trying to do their job and earn some money. Please do not simply hang up on or cancel on them. This is quite rude. Take your first session with the tutor who claims your lesson. You don't have to have a long lesson. You can ask them your first question, graciously end the lesson, and then message me to invite me to a lesson for everything else.
*Tutoring is designed to help the student learn how to do things, or talk through things to help the student accomplish goals. It is not the same thing as a homework completion service or a paper writing service. Tutorme has rules against academic dishonesty, and those rules will be followed in my tutoring sessions.
*We cannot arrange tutoring sessions outside of the TutorMe website. My contract with them states that I will not attempt to draw students away from the site, so once you have a tutoring session with me through Tutorme, we need to stay there for our tutoring.
*While my classroom teaching, novels, and freelance writing are devoted to adults and adult learners, I do occasionally offer tutoring to teens and children. Please be aware that these sessions are still tutoring. They are not online childcare. I am there to help your child with their reading, research, and writing homework and skills, not to keep them occupied for you.
*Remember that Tutorme records all sessions, and others who work for the company have access to those records. Do not share anything you would not share with a stranger during a Tutorme session, even if you and I know each other well.
